Flag Day

It was my first time, yes, but definitely not the last. :) Flag Day was wonderful! I mean, okay, I don't usually stick to normal definitions, but all the same..... it was... fun. Yep. Totally. I was standing a few metres away from the Raffles City MRT station entrance and telling everyone:" Good Morning, I'm from the Girls' Brigade Singapore, would you like to donate?" A few would inquire about the purpose, and I would rattle off. (Mostly what I memorised from a little slip of paper) There were a few generous people, dropping in $5, while there were some who ignored me. :( But they were kinda busy, I could tell, it being the morning-rush-to-work routine and all that. It was an eye-opener. Seriously.

Holidays

I feel kind of detached from everyone, haha, after not writing for so long. I decided to start typing something before the guilt sets in. :) Yes, the holidays are here (actually they've been around for a month or so already) and I'm just relaxing and having fun :D, doing things that I don't usually have the time for. I watched New Moon today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I mean the storyline was kindof touching and romantic. :D All in all, it was an interesting movie, and I wouldn't mind watching it again, not that I would, but I'll probably be looking forward to Eclipse. The weather's been a little gloomy lately and there're thundery showers everywhere. Okay, maybe not, but it's raining a lot recently, compared to the other months. Monsoon season. Right. I can't wait to get back to school. :) See you guys!

Post EYA-Reflection1:13 October

Hello!
I'm back from my last paper! :D I thought it was okay, even fun! Phew, the exams are over. At last. Bet a lot of people are slackin' right now. :) Okay, I really don't know what to write about, hmm, to begin with I've not even done anything much since I got home. Just a bit of the telly and the monotonous routine of flipping through newspapers. Hmph. I'm at a loss for words these few days. Fine, bye. See you soon when I have more to tell.

11.10.09

Hello!!!
I haven't posted for a considerable long period of time(yes I know that, I'm not ignorant of the truth), but anyway, here's a new post! :) I figured my blog was deprived of words after reviewing it. Sigh. There isn't a lot of things to talk about currently, except that it has been a splendid and beautiful Sunday. It began with fabulous breakfast, quick lunch and ended with delicious dinner. How concise. :D I'm having Math EYA tomo. Math's okay, I guess. :) Most of my EYAs are over, and I think I'm going to do all right for all of them, thanks to my simply awesome teachers! :) Yep, the year is drawing to a close. I can't believe that sec 1 is officially going to be over. I'm that kind who likes to reminiscence about the past. Yes, so I'm trying to remember as much as I can about 2009 and Math. (EYA) Hahaha. Sighs. Okay, that's it for now! See you soon!

PS: I love Linkin Park. Really. It's so cool!! Fine, maybe just the Transformers soundtrack. Hee.

Open house

Hahas. Open House'09 was AWEsome!!! It was super cool and Waddle rocks. The cheerleaders were so superb! I thought the Kamate kamate song was really fun and their moves too! So there. Waddle simply rocks. Yupp. Hmm, the Biology booth was interesting and I had a good time talking to the parents. It's good to see that people are interested in what we do for Biology PT (Which is really cool). The other booths were so GREAT too! Well done RGS! :) Sighs, 1 of the 4 open houses I will be experiencing in my life in RGS is officially over. Still, it was fun today, and I wish Open House'10 will be equally interesting and bustling with people! :D

At the end of the term...(or going to be)

Sighs. It's going to be the end of term 2 soon. I'm still reeling from the shock of my results. They are not bad or extremely good but just shocking. Hmm, it's such a pity that 1/8 of my life in RGS is almost slipping away through my fingers like sand. (Flowers for Algernon). "It's slipping away like sand through my fingers." June 30. Haha, I guess I've studied a lot for FFA. I shall end the post with a wonderful song:

God will make a way

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

[This was from the AWEsome FOTL I had today :) ]

SAs

Haha, havn't posted for quite a while, I think. Anyway, I'm super busy this weekend, chionging all my SAs that I'm having on Monday. Bio bio bio. Can't seem to get the nutrition part into my head. What's erepsin again? Sigh. That's not all. I have to memorise whatever important stuff that Charlie said in FFA which is reeeeeeally challenging. But I'm going to do it. Hmm, geog's okay I think. Not too bad... Thank goodness Monday's a holiday. Would be able to chiong more for my SAs. Okay, I'm going to stop slacking. So I guess, bye!

Singapore's F1 Grand Prix

Just received a set of F1 coins that are minted in Singapore. Was given to me by my grandpa. Totally cool! They are actually given to me as a christmas present. A very early one too! :D Anyway, I really appreciate his gift. He was really thoughtful to get me such a awesome present! Many thanks, Grandpa!
There's this really nice wooden frame that surrounds the coins. Plus, there is a thick piece of glass to protect both sides of the coins. It's somethig like putting coins in a photo frame.
And there is a race car below the coins. Besides that, there is also a picture of the Singapore Flyer and the Merlion.
I really, really love it! Thank you , thank you so much, Grandpa!

Back In Singapore!

Whew! After a long 7- day holiday in Taiwan, I'm back in Singapore. I got some souvenirs for my relatives and friends. (Hope they like them) I ate some delicious food in Taiwan too. First on the list would be the "Xiao Long Bao", followed by the beef noodles, the dumplings and "Zhu Tong Fan" , which is basically rice in a piece of bamboo. I love the "Zhu Tong Fan" especially, cuz' it's steaming hot and when you crack open the bamboo(most of the time it's already cut open for you) , the aroma just wafts into your nose. Fantastic! I'm practically drooling as I type. Can't wait to taste the" Zhu Tong Fan" again. Aaah...

Below are some photographs I took on my trip:

Writing from Taiwan Day 3

Haven't written for the past 2 days in Taiwan cuz I couldn't find any internet cafes. I discovered one in this hotel I am staying at and decided to write a mini journal before I board the tour bus.
For the past 2 days, I was busy taking lots of photographs, viewing tourist attractions and so on. Taiwan is a fun and wonderful place. I love the cold weather! (Though my lips crack!)
Yesterday I am went to Yehliu. I love it. There are all these gigantic rocks and the seabreeze is wonderful.
Got to pen off for now!

A trip to Sentosa

I went to Sentosa yesterday and had a whale of a time! Let me narrate my experience to you. But first, I will construct a timeline and from it, you will get to lnow the general idea of my whole trip. Then I will write about some attractions and finally, include some pictures on the trip.

12.20p.m.-finished final preparations for the trip

1.36p.m.-reached Vivocity, queuing up to buy tickets to board the monorail to get to Sentosa(Long queue, it being a glorious Sunday)

---------------------------Sightseeing and going for rides---------------------------------

6.22p.m.-dinner at "Tastes of Singapore". (Nice ambience) Already bought tickets for the 8:40 show of "Songs of the Sea" or "Hai Zhi Song" in mandarin.

8.40p.m.- show starts.

9.10p.m.-show ends. FABULOUS! (the show, I mean)

-------------Queue up to buy tickets for the monorail ride back to Singapore--------------

9.44p.m.-reached Vivocity. Having supper. Ate Fried Hokkien Mee and drank "Anything (Black)"

10.22p.m.-finished eating meal. SUMPTUOUS!

End of timeline

There's some rides and shows that I would recommend to those who wish to visit Sentosa anytime soon. They are as follows:

  • Songs of the sea-For the kids and family
  • Tiger sky tower- For those who like taking photographs
  • The Merlion
  • Merlion walk
  • Sentosa Luge and skyride-A "must try"!
  • Sentosa 4D Magix
